hobbies
B-Mill asked:

I play bball and I was wondering what sort of things could help me become a better basketball player. B/C besides playing bball, theres just plain old working out and I knew of some other sports, hobbies, activities that could help me that would be great!

  • you can join track or just run if you don’t all ready count that as working out. play handball or something.

  • ..hm.. How about dodgeball for aiming, and baseball for hand-eye coordination?

  • You should join track. It’s fun too, and helps out with your stamina and running speed.

  • Long distance running for stamina
    Sprints on the Track

  • Running will definatley help, thats wut u should do a lot of
and thats actually all I can think of
and also, just 2 practice, u can play those little bball games like Horse n Lightning and things like that :)

  • Obviously running as everyone has pointed out. Heres a few most people don’t think of.
Rope or tree climbing. Builds your legs and your hand grip which is very useful in Basketball.
Boxing – Grip and boxing go hand in hand. It also works on cardiovascular. What I do it box 2 to 3 rounds of 5 minutes on a heavy bag. It builds up your shoulders which are needed for when your tired to get that perfect shot or to push through guys down in the paint. It helps your hips get stronger for post play.
Jump rope – 15 minutes of jump rope equals to 45 of running, and your body gets accustomed to leaving the air like you do when you shoot.
Mow the lawn – on a push mower without the help of the mower, helps your calves and gets your parents or wife happy.
Run through the woods if you have any. Builds on coordination and stamina.
Climb a mountain – If you live by one nearby with a track.
