I’ve decided I need a new hobby – I’m interested in all kinds of stuff: sports, movies, literature, music, theatre etc
But I really need something to keep me challenged, to meet new people and which is not massively expensive (like learning to fly planes for example).
Genuine answers much appreciated!

Sign Language – once you start it you’ll wanna learn it forever – it change my life, perspective and understanding of communication… find a college or deaf club locally who teach level 1 BSL – give it a try – you’ll love it!!!
Try parachuting i took it up 18 months ago do it every Sunday now with a club.
It would have to be productive to keep me interested so I think I would learn a new language.
if i took up a new hobby ill just stick with ot or change with another hobby
ok you should have the hobby a club like siwmming or running or playing games and other clib or just hubg out with your friends
so your thinking of a new hobby which is cheap. so learning to fly aint really an option is it!
try actually joining a sports club in your favourite chosen sport, you may have to pay insurance if its say rugby or something, but that will be only around £30 at the start of the season, then all you might have to pay for is subs every time you play, ranging from a pound to fiver i would say.
Whatever you do, i hope u have lots of fun and make a lot of new friends.x
Are you boring ?
about 2 year ago i was in the same boat i have dogs, and decided on making something for them to chase,i went on the web for flying toys and ended up buying a boomerang!of all things ,they could chase it and i could catch it(sometimes).now as time went on you can imagine what state the boomerang was in! so i decided to make my own.at first with little pieces of scrap wood, but as time went on i was using better and better materials.varnish them paint them.and are definatly not for the dogs!i have hundreds now and sell them regularly,at meetings carboots and the like,i still go out and fly them(great source of exercise believe it or not)and such a nice feeling of making something from scratch to the finished product.good luck in whatever you choose.
If I wanted to take up a new hobby, I would start learning how to play music instruments or maybe dancing. But right now I’m too busy doing sport to start anything new…..
Try some fighting sports like Karate or Taekwondo or maybe Aikido, it’s fun and increases your self confidence and your self defence of course.
Maybe finding a good book club or writing group. Also, something I did recently was to start a wine club. We have a theme every week and people bring one bottle of wine. With the help of books, we work out what tastes of what and about growing and grape variety. We have a fun group, nothing too pompous, and chat as we taste.
